Why I purchased it:
I decided to plant a trio of dormant dwarf apple trees and wanted to give them the best start possible. This particular brand was very well reviewed.
My Review:
Right out of the gate I want to make something clear - 3.5 ounces is not much to work with, though it was more than adequate for my planting of the apple trees. Mycorrhizal inoculation pellets tend to be somewhat expensive and this brand is no exception, with 3.5 ounces costing nearly $15.00. For perspective I’m not convinced that 3.5 ounces would be enough to plant out half of my garden, so if you needed this for something other than a small project I recommend buying it in bulk. Price aside, this product was dust free and easy to apply. My trees did show some small amount of growth, perhaps a bit more than would be expected for dormant trees in the autumn, but I can’t tell if that was due to mycorrhizal inoculation or if that’s just a testament to the nursery from which I ordered the trees. I guess the best I can say is that it did no harm and probably works fine?
Pros:
* appears to have worked better than expected
Cons:
* pricing per ounce for this size is three times higher than for bags of any other size
